" Help Bring Hope "

Dear friends and members,

It gives me great pleasure to be writing to you today as the new National
Representative for District 95.  I have always considered it a privilege to belong to such a distinguished group.  After decades as a member of IIW I am proud to be now serving you in a different capacity.  When I was selected to this prestigious position, I felt that I need to uphold my predecessors’ achievements. Like them, to be effective, I would require duty, diligence, and a sense of honor. I hope to build on the accomplishments we have achieved over the years and I also look forward to helping our members dedicate their outstanding resolve to serve our communities.

As National Representative I will hold stead fast to my duty to
communicate the wishes and desires of the members of IIW's 95th
District to IIW.  At the same time I will strive to successfully
communicate the duty of District 95 to our community. This is especially pertinent for our special project in conjunction with UNICEF's mission to promote education for girls. A project that is close to the hearts of all our members and that can truly help our communities on the road to progress.
Furthermore, it is my firm belief that in order for us as an
organization to accomplish our theme for this year,
Realise your Visions – and – Make a Difference,
we must be diligent and strive to uphold both the standards and practices of the IIW.

On a final note I know that we all share our vision of a better future and that together we can make it happen. As George Sand said more than 150 years ago:
“Guard well within yourself that treasure, kindness. Know how to give without hesitation, how to lose without regret, how to acquire without meanness.”

Yours in Inner Wheel Friendship,

Afaf  Maged/ Tawfik Ismail

"Communicate Our Vision"
To Promote True Friendship
To Encourage The Ideals of Personal Service
To Foster International Understanding

A Message to all members

Dear friends,It is indeed a privilege to be this year's 2007-2008, National Representative for District 95 Egypt & Jordan.

The international Inner Wheel President, Kamala Ramakrishnan chose
"Communicate our vision"
as a theme for this year.

The vision that was given to us by our founder Margarette Golding is a belief in True Friendship and a personal commitment to serve our community and to develop international understanding.

I do hope that this vision will inspire members in our District to constantly communicate about their activities and projects, or simply to put a smile on someone's face by giving them a helping hand when needed and most importantly to assist individuals or communities and help them to help themselves.

Enthusiasm and good communication will attract more members to join this successful organization.

Only last year charters were given to 50 new clubs with 784 founder members who are eager to play a full and meaningful part in all what IIW stands for.

Proudly, I should say that Inner Wheel is represented at the United Nations and its endeavors to focus world attention upon various kinds of problems, such as: climate change, global warming, cholera & Aids outbreaks, the right of the child.
Needless to say that issues like Education, Health, Poverty, Street children, Violence, Sexual exploitation, Child prostitution, are and should always be on top of any country's Agenda.

“A BETTER LIFE IN A BETTER WORLD”

The IIW social project 2006-2009 for UNICEF (Global Education for Girls) attracted many donations from members of Inner Wheel around the world.

UNICEF received a distinction for their education work in Jalalabad – Afghanistan.
During 2007 the plan was to supply 5.4 million children with teaching materials, and school buildings. They also tried to reach 400,000 girls in isolated villages. This is only one example of what the Inner Wheel contributes.

Financial aid and donations and working together with the UNICEF contribute to the success of this worthwhile IIW social project.

You, as Inner Wheel members in Egypt & Jordan, really do make a difference in today’s world. And you are certainly helping to make the dreams of many, a living reality, by simply adopting the Inner Wheel objects and ideals, and service before self by COMMINICATING OUR VISION.

Yours in sincere friendship,

Jumana Mutawi

Dear Inner wheel Friends

It gives me a great pleasure and I feel proud to be the National Representative 2006-07 for District 95 Egypt & Jordan.

The presidential theme of this year is “show that you care through friendship and service”.

The new social project 2006-09 to promote UNICEF Education for girls is such an urgently needed and important program for the welfare of families and society – ultimately the world would benefit .

IIW has seven representatives in the United Nations, three of them in Geneva and two each in New York and Vienna and each sitting on different committees: The rights of the family; The status of women; The rights of the child; Human rights; The committee on aging and narcotic drugs.

Let us associate ourselves with the problems of the world and all those around us who need our help, in the hope that our efforts will help create a better tomorrow.

With our communication and genuine friendship, service and international understanding we should make this world a better and more peaceful place to live in and make our dreams a reality.

Yours in Inner Wheel Friendship,

Hala El Akkad
National Representative 2006-2007

National Representative from Egypt Seham El Gohary 2004-2006

Dear Inner Wheel friends,

My name is Seham Elgohary, Seham means: Arrows. My arrows are full of friendship, surrounded with love, understanding and good will. I am an Egyptian Inner Wheel member. It is a great honor and pleasure to serve my
district as: National Representative for two years starting from 2004-2005, with I.I.W. President METJE HANEKAMP
with her theme "WORK TOGETHER AND GIVE HOPE" and this year 2005-2006, with our I.I.W. President ERNA FANDAL
and the presidential theme "SUPPORT GIVES STRENGTH".

I am enjoying every single minute since I joined this fascinating army of love and friendship, which is a very important part of our organization. The Inner Wheel turned one more circle and the I.I.W. movement has completed 82 years of life, 35 years in Egypt and Jordan. The years may pass, but the objects of friendship, international understanding and personal service have remained unchanged.

At this moment, internationally we have over 103,000 members with 3829 clubs in 101 countries. 14 clubs have recently been formed with 222 new members, but unfortunately 4 clubs have been disbanded with a total of 91 members. Still: The positive message is: We are growing!!!....

We are all responsible for making Inner Wheel well known and showing friendship, service and international understanding. District 95 Egypt & Jordan has 26 clubs with 903 members; 26 clubs with 808 members in Egypt (2 new clubs are being formed this year) and 2 clubs with 95 members in Jordan (1 new club is also being formed). All the members of District 95 members are one large family. Exchange visits between both our countries foster friendship and highlight our endeavors. Members get to know the different activities and projects in both countries and share their visions on everything.

I am very pleased to say how grateful I am to all my district members. Also, I feel that my national friendship arrows go straight to their minds, hearts and return back full of wonderful friendly cooperation. The members of the 26 (soon to be 28) Inner Wheel Clubs of our district execute fabulous work with dedication to serve and help in anyway they can, people in need. They take care of numerous wonderful local projects.

On the international level, we are very happy to help those who need our support by joining the UNICEF (MNT) I.I.W. Social project. We showed our Caring & Sharing by helping the victims of the South East Asia earthquake and Tsunami disaster, the unforgettable tragedy.

Allow me to offer my heartfelt thanks to all my dear Inner Wheel friends. I hope that we will continue our work with the same enthusiasm and never forget our theme "SUPPORT GIVES STRENGTH".

I am looking forward to seeing lots of old friends and meeting new ones in Christchurch New Zealand for the 13th I.I.W. Convention in May 2006 to promote the vision of INTERNATIONAL INNER WHEEL.

Sincerely in Inner Wheel friendship,

Seham El-Gohary
