IW District 95 Egypt & Jordan

27th anniversary University Students Clothing Project December 2008

This year we celebrated the 27th anniversary of this worthy project that has united the families and friends of our entire district for so many years.
We donated more than 100.000 articles of mainly new clothing of all sizes to numerous university students who lined up to choose just the right garment they needed.  Generous donors and friends of Inner Wheel also donated new books as well as office furniture.

Sources of garments:
1. Donations from Inner Wheel & Rotary members
2. Donations from garment factories
3. Friends of the Inner Wheel Clothing Drive

The pioneering lady who has started and sponsored this phenomenal drive is Mrs. Amal Namek, past International Representative and District Chairman from the Cairo South Inner Wheel Club.
H.E. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hany Helal and H.E. Dr. Hossam Kamel, President of Cairo University and Dr. Heba Nassar, Vice President of Cairo University attended this year’s event.  Past Chairmen of Inner Wheel, present and past governors of Rotary as well as numerous members of both organizations attended this annual event which was inaugurated by H.E. the Minister and District Chairman, Mrs. Ashnadelle Hilmy/Mortagy. It was a joy to behold such spontaneous giving to the less fortunate particularly since this event took place prior to the Eid and Christmas celebrations.

May we long be able to contribute to the joy of others by working
hand in hand
under our own banner of goodwill.
