In 2005-2006 Chairman Samia Abou El Foutouh was inspired to form new clubs in District 95 in order to infuse our District with new blood from within the Inner Wheel and Rotary families. Her idea was well received by members who encouraged their young daughters, daughters-in-law and sisters to join in the newly formed clubs. The enthusiasm of this new generation of dynamic young ladies is admirable and was felt from the first days of the founding of the clubs.
Samia Abou El Foutouh founded the Kasr El Nil “Daughters’ Club” from District 95 daughters & sisters and wives of Rotarians in the Kasr El Nil Rotary Club.
`
With the help of Salam Hannou, ALEXANDRIA Club and District Extension Organizer, she also founded the Alexandria Sporting “Daughters’ Club” in Alexandria.
With the help of Ghania Al Tayeh, Past District Chairman from Amman Club, and Alya Baghdadi Past District Vice Chairman from Philadelphia Club she founded a third Club, the Amman Petra “Daughters’ Club”.
I mentioned the formation of these clubs at the IIW Convention in Christchurch, New Zealand in May 2006 and was very happy to see how well the idea was received by members of IW clubs around the world. Many clubs contacted us about how we formed these clubs and now there are several “New Generation” clubs in the worldwide Inner Wheel family. I was also thrilled at the Convention in Malaysia in May 2009 to see that numerous clubs had formed more New Generation clubs and that a workshop was offered about the “New Generation” clubs.
District 95 Committee recognized Samia Aboul Foutouh’s efforts at a Cairo ceremony on October 17, 2009 attended by Chairman Nahla Sweiss, Immediate Past Chairman Ashnadelle Hilmy/Mortagy, 1st Vice Chairman Zeinab El Ghazaly, 2nd Vice Chairman Awatef El Nasharty, Secretary Bahiga Askar, Treasurer Manal Al Attar, National Representative Afaf Ismail, Deputy National Representative Nelly El Bahtimy.
